Conflict Minerals Due Diligence Compliance within the Telecommunications Industry:    A Case Study

DI's latest case study compares the SEC compliance and OECD conformance of 12 companies in the telecommunication industry. They find wide disparaties in the quality of due diligence and corresponding disclosure among the companies under study: while they are all publicly-traded US issuers, only five of them had ever filed a Form SD. And among these filers, only two satisfied SEC filing requirements as well as largely aligned with the OECD's due diligence standard.

Development International e.V. (DI) is a not-for-profit organization specialized in conducting research where law, business and development intersect.

Business, because the private sector is the engine that has the power to lift societies from poverty and propel us into the future.

Law, such that the productive forces do not become detrimental to society and the environment.

And sustainable development as a discipline to negotiate a path on this course.

By applying scientific methods, and sharing our data and findings, we bring independent scrutiny, clarity, and accuracy to bear on environmental, social and governance issues with an empirical deficit, thus enabling constructive discourse and visions for a way forward.
